#Yuki, aka Yoyo has been living with us for three weeks now. During the first a couple weeks, all we saw from her face was fear. But this weekend, we started to notice other emotions coming through, such as desire, anticipation, caution, urgency, and occasionally judgement. 😂 One day we will see joy. Today's mini-task is to spot stain/repair the coffee table. Each our fosters, right before getting adopted, started putting their teeth on this edge. Is it weird to celebrate it? Because it signals that they were finally comfortable enough to start testing boundaries. These foster pups were never allowed to be puppies. Only after coming to us, they had a chance to re-live the puppyhood which was painfully missed. But now they can be naughty puppies as they should have. The coffee table can always be repaired. But I will never regret watching my fosters blossom 🌸

Ladies and gentlemen, meet our new foster, Yuki! 💕 Yuki, aka Yoyo is a 6-month-old small cattle dog mix. She is the most shy dog in her litter of four, of which two have been adopted. She was very dependent on her remaining brother in the shelter, a behavior commonly seen in less confident dogs. As her foster family, our task is to separate her from her brother, which gives her an opportunity to bond with other dogs and humans. 💞 As you could imagine, peeling her away from her brother was dramatic. She came in completely terrified and shut down. But this is a necessary step for her to get better and to find her forever family. I will update Yuki (Yoyo)'s progress in my IG stories. Please join me to cheer her along this difficult but hopefully upward journey! 🙏🐕💓
